Email invitations not arriving
What to check when a learner doesn't receive the email invitation to your course or collection, and how to send it again.
Why hasn't my learner received their course invitation?
Most missing invitations are caught by a spam filter or an organisation's email security, or were sent to an address with a typo. Ask the learner to check their spam, junk and quarantine folders, check the address you entered, then remove them from the invite list and add them again to send a fresh invitation.
What should I check first?
- Ask the learner to check other folders. Spam, junk, promotions, and any quarantine folder their organisation uses.
- Check the email address. Open the invite list on the course or collection and look for typos, extra spaces, or an old address.
- Ask their IT team. Workplace email security can hold or block automated emails before they reach the inbox. Their IT team can check whether the invitation was held and release it.
How do I send the invitation again?
Remove the learner from the invite list, then add them again. Adding them sends a new invitation email. Give it a few minutes, then ask them to check again, including their spam and junk folders.
Frequently asked questions
Can my learner get into the course without the invitation email?
If the course is set to Only people invited, the learner needs to be on the invite list. Once they are, they can open the course link and verify with their email address.
