Shareable templates
A template link lets other workspaces copy your course as an editable template. They get their own independent copy to adapt, and your original stays untouched.
A template link is a unique URL that lets someone copy your course into their own Coassemble workspace. The copy is fully independent, they can edit, brand, and adapt it without affecting your original. It's ideal for distributing reusable training across teams, giving partners or customers starter content, or offering ready-made courses from your website.
Get a template link
- Go to the Courses dashboard and find the course you want to share.
- Click the three-dot menu on the course card.
- Select Get template link, and review how template links work.
- Click Copy link.
- Share the link by email, chat, documentation, your website, or a partner portal.
What recipients do
To copy your course, a recipient signs in or registers for Coassemble, opens the link to a preview of the course, and selects Copy course to my workspace. If they belong to more than one workspace, they choose which one to copy it into. The course then appears in their dashboard as their own independent version.
Good to know
- Copies are independent. Changes a recipient makes don't affect your original, and your edits don't change their copy.
- Privacy. You can't see who has used your template link or how many copies were made, and you can't see their version unless you're a member of that workspace.
- Secure links. Template links use randomised, non-guessable URLs and are separate from learner-facing course URLs.
Frequently asked questions
Does sharing a template change my original course?
No. Recipients get a separate copy. Their edits never affect your original, and yours never affect theirs.
Do recipients need a Coassemble account?
Yes. They sign in or register first, since the course is copied into their own workspace.
Can I see who copied my course?
No. You can't see who used the link or how many times, which keeps recipients' workspaces private.
