Vimeo

Yes. Add a Video screen and paste your Vimeo link into the video URL field. The video plays inline in the course. You just need the standard share link, not embed code.

If your videos live on Vimeo, you can bring them into a course without re-uploading them. Coassemble's Video screen is built for video playback, so a Vimeo link drops straight in and plays inline for your learners.

Add a Vimeo video

  1. In Vimeo, open the video you want and click the Share icon, then Copy link to grab the URL (for example https://vimeo.com/123456789). You don't need embed code, the standard link is enough.
  2. In Coassemble, open your course and click Add screen.
  3. Choose the Video screen type. (Don't choose Embed.)
  4. Paste your Vimeo link into the video URL field. The video loads in the screen editor straight away.

Frequently asked questions

Do I use the Video screen or the Embed screen?

The Video screen. It's optimised for video playback and just needs the Vimeo link. The Embed screen is for other kinds of embedded content.

Do I need embed code from Vimeo?

No. A standard Vimeo share link is all you need.

Can I add a custom thumbnail to a linked Vimeo video?

No. Custom thumbnails are only available for videos uploaded to Coassemble, not for linked videos.
