SCORM usage
SCORM usage insights show how learners are engaging with a course after you've exported it as a SCORM package and hosted it in another LMS. You can see unique views, where it's being hosted, and usage over a date range. Open Insights on the course and switch to the SCORM Usage tab.
When you export a course as a SCORM package and host it in another learning system, that course is running outside Coassemble. SCORM usage insights give you visibility into how it's being used out there, so you still get a read on engagement even when delivery has moved to an external LMS.
Open SCORM usage
- Go to Courses and find the course you want to review.
- Click Insights on the course card, beneath the course title. It opens on the Link insights tab by default.
- Select SCORM Usage from the menu in the Insights window.
- Set the date range to the period you want to look at.
What SCORM usage shows you
- Unique views, so you can see how many distinct learners have opened the course where it's hosted.
- Hosting locations, showing where the SCORM package is being used.
- Usage over time, which you can drill into across the date range you've selected.
How this differs from link insights
Link insights cover people opening a course through a Coassemble share link, where Coassemble is delivering the course. SCORM usage covers a course you've exported and hosted elsewhere, so the depth of data is different: the detailed progression and completion tracking you get from a Coassemble link isn't available once delivery is handled by another LMS. For a SCORM course, the other system holds the detailed completion and scoring, and SCORM usage gives you the engagement picture from Coassemble's side.
Frequently asked questions
Why don't I see the same detail as a shared course?
Because a SCORM course is delivered by another system, not Coassemble. SCORM usage shows unique views, hosting locations and usage over time. Detailed completion and scoring for a SCORM course are reported by the LMS that hosts it.
Can I see where my SCORM course is being used?
Yes. SCORM usage includes hosting locations, so you can see where the package has been deployed.
Can I change the time period?
Yes. Set the date range in the Insights window to look at usage over a specific period.
